NEWS

Oil boiler ban moved back 9 years.

Yesterday (20.9.23)  Rishi Sunak announced significant changes to the government’s energy and green policies.

Off-grid homes using heating oil: the ban on oil boilers has been pushed back from 2026 to 2035.

It is good to see the government give families in off-grid homes more time to decide how and when to upgrade the way you heat your homes.

We had an estimate of £20,000 to replace our system with a heat pump (which will cost 25% more to run), and put an “American Fridge” outside our back door, so this is good news!  Phil.

The Cilcain Oil Syndicate order is now done for 2023

We bought 17,000 litres of oil at  68.6p/litre.

I had hoped to get nearer 50p this summer, but OPEC had different ideas.

If you could pay a lump sum, say £15,000 to cover your heating bill for life, would you do it?

Curious? It’s worked for me as long as I have been using oil. It’s totally legal and very simple, though not entirely without risk. You may get all your money back after a number of years, possibly more. Have a chat if you are interested.   Phil.

How was it for you?

After all the government hand outs I think our heating last winter (2022-23) cost us less than the year before! We used £890 worth of oil without any reduction of comfort. Hopefully it will be lower this coming winter.
